NRS ION PFD

From its flexible fit to the padded shoulders and large zippered pocket, the NRS Ion PFD is a comfortable, minimalist low-profile PFD that gets all the details right. Pack Raft Australia particularly likes the fact this PFD packs down thinner than some others, and the front pocket is streamlined which may assist some paddlers getting back into their packraft during a wet exit/entry.

Choosing the right size?

The adjustable strap lengths shorten or lengthen between sizes. The actual flotation of the NRS Ion PFD is the same between sizes XSM & LXL and provides approximately ~7.4kg of floatation.

Measure your torso around the widest part and choose between XSM or LXL size which suits your chest measurement. Pro Tip: Easiest way to measure this is to grab a length of string or thin rope. Wrap the string/rope around the widest part of your chest. Mark where one end of the string meets the other, then lay this down on a flat surface. Use a standard tape measure to measure this length (alternatively measure your chest diameter with tailors measuring tape if you have one). This will give you your chest size which correlates to the following:

• XSM = ~76 - 110cm

• LXL = ~106 - 132cm
