We choose this paddle for trips of a mixed use type scenario (think rivers with predominantly mild grade 2, the occasional grade 3 and lots of flat touring sections on rivers, lakes or nearshore paddling). The Corryvreckan is also a worthy choice where reduced carry weight is top priority over overall durability. For paddlers really pushing the limits of their packrafting, with a combination of strong power strokes, high volume, technically challenging rapids and/or pushy whitewater, where the external forces encountered really push the material physics of any composite shaft paddles, we recommend paddles designed specifically for Whitewater paddling, such as our Werner Powerhouse or Sherpa 4 piece paddles.
