Hyperlite packs are built to endure, with a streamlined, no fuss, highly functional design. Constructed of HMG’s mayhem-tested 150-Denier Dyneema® Composite Fabric Hybrid (DCH150) for the main body of the pack, with added protection to the base of the bag with a 375-Denier layer (DCHW).

The team at Pack Raft Australia have personally been using the HMG Porter series going on 5yrs+. The large volume Porter 85 (formally known as the Porter 5400) are our go to hike and packrafting packs, and allow for internal secure transport of split paddles, pfd’s and your packraft & camping gear. Eliminating external pockets also reduces snag points when pushing through the scrub.

With a minimal base weight of only 1387 grams, the Porter 85 keeps your total pack weight low, while leaving sufficient space and versatility for carrying larger loads often encountered on multi-day packrafting trips. Having field tested the HMG packs over a number of years, in varying terrain, we believe these to be a solid & durable option for the Australian wilderness.

If you’re looking for a smaller hiking/climbing pack, we also highly recommend the smaller Porter 70. 

If you are keen for some external storage on your Porter Series, add a Porter Stuff Pocket to either of our Porter 70L or 85L packs for added external storage.
